Thursday Makeup Tips and Tricks
I love Thursdays. They are a reminder that the weekend is right around the corner. My weekends are always pretty busy with running the kids around or attending different events. There are days when I am running late and sometimes I just need to quickly throw on my makeup and go out the door. I want to look great but I don't have a lot of time. I found these tips & tricks quite helpful for getting glam quickly!
MAKEUP ADVENTURES: Thursday Tips and Tricks
Tip #1: Winged Eyeliner
I don't know about you but I have yet to perfect winged eyeliner. Usually, I can get one just as I want it and then the other one doesn't come out right at all. In order for my eyeliner to match, I had to find some kind of tip or trick to get it right. That is where this wonderful stencil comes in.
I always choose gel over pencil. I just like how easy it is to apply and I love the way it looks on my eyes. Sometimes I get so tired of having to sharpen a pencil.
Quick Story
I was in a rush one day and my eyeliner pencil was dull. I rushed to sharpen the thing so I could put my eyeliner on and get out the door to work. As I applied my eyeliner, a piece of the pencil got in my eye. I cursed in agony. It hurt and my eye began to get irritated. It took me a few minutes to get the pencil out of my eye. By the time I calmed down and stopped my eye from hurting, my makeup was ruined. I washed my face and had to reapply my makeup. Of course, I have not let this happen again. I take my time after sharpening my pencil to clean it off and melt the tip just a little bit. This incident is a major part of the reason that I switched to gel.
Anyway, I love anything that makes my makeup routine a little easier. I am all for a stencil, honey. Both eyes come out the same way every time. My eyeliner is created equal. LOL.
Tip #2: Eyebrow Stamp
OMG! Have you seen the new eyebrow stamp? I have fallen in love. Because of my schedule, I can't always get to the shop to get my eyebrows done. I have messed up my eyebrows plenty of times trying to tweeze them myself. I just get too excited and try to move too fast. (Geez, I sound like a clutz.) After I mess them up, I have to try and fill them in with a pencil. They never come out the same. I saw this eyebrow stamp on facebook and just knew I had to have one.
This stamp makes life so much easier. You can count on your eyebrows to come out the same way every day. The eyebrow stamp gives very natural looking eyebrows and did I mention how easy they are to apply?! Although my eyebrows are black, I tend to go for the dark brown stamp. My eyebrows just look more natural with the dark brown powder.
Tip #3: Eye Shadow Guide
Not sure how to apply your eyeshadow? I was once where you are. I would have these beautiful eyeshadow palettes and had no clue where to apply each shade. After trying over and over again, I finally had to look for a product that showed me what I was supposed to do. I found an eyeshadow palette that very clearly showed me where and how to apply the different colors.
Tip #4: Eyelash Applicator
I have never been good at applying eyelashes. One will land perfectly and the other will take me a half hour to apply, just for it to be crooked. At that point, I'm so exhausted I don't even want to leave the house anymore. Okay, I may be exaggerating but I can never get both of my eyelashes on correctly. I went online and found and applicator that does the trick. No more gluing my fingers together or gluing my eyelashes to my fingers. Lol!
Tip #5: Contouring
Trying to figure out how to contour made me nauseous. Yes, I would sit in front of the mirror for hours trying to figure out which shades go where. Even after watching countless Youtube videos, I just couldn't catch on. I don't know what was wrong with me, I always ended up looking like some kind of clown. You can imagine how many makeup removal wipes I went through at the time.
There is a reason that the Aesthetica Cosmetics Cream Contour and Highlighting Makeup Kit is a #1 best seller on Amazon. It truly speaks for itself. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest that you do. It is definitely a purchase that you won't regret.
